Isolated relay outputs with contact suppression and configurable stop behavior
Siemens 6ES7322-5HF00-0AB0 is an SM 322 relay output module with eight individually isolated outputs. It switches documented AC and DC load types and provides channel status indicators, a group-fault display and programmable diagnostic interrupt support.
A jumper can connect an internal RC network for contact protection. Output behavior at CPU stop is configurable, including substitute values or retained values. Switching capacity and contact life depend on load voltage and load type, not simply the thermal current rating.

Isolated load switching with configurable suppression and stop states
Eight isolated relay circuits connect through a forty-pin front connector. The exact diagram shows supply connections, relay terminals and optional SJ bridges for contact suppression.
Choose contact protection and load limits for the actual load class. The RC network changes off-state leakage, and the AC leakage condition can affect connected electronic inputs.

Is every load allowed to switch at 5 A?
No. Five amperes is the maximum continuous thermal current. The switching tables distinguish voltage, resistive or inductive load and useful contact life; higher DC voltage has substantially lower permitted switching current. -
What does the SJ jumper do?
It connects an internal RC quenching element across the contact for overvoltage suppression. The network is 330 ohm and 0.1 microfarad. Without the jumper, the network's leakage path is disconnected. -
Why can an input remain on when connected to the relay output?
With an AC load and inserted SJ jumper, the manual states residual current of 11.5 mA. An RC network connected to an IEC Type 1 input can cause an unwanted signal state; the manual specifies removing the SJ jumper for that condition. -
Can SELV and higher voltages share adjacent terminals?
If one of two horizontally adjacent terminals uses SELV, the other may not exceed 120 VUC. Above that voltage, connector creepage and clearance do not meet the stated safe-separation requirement. -
Can output current be increased by parallel contacts?
No. Parallel connection for increased capacity is not supported. Redundant load control is supported only for outputs with the same load voltage. -
What happens when the CPU stops?
Configure the channel response as substitute value or hold last value. The default is substitute value, with substitute one disabled. Diagnostic interrupts are also disabled unless enabled.
