PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Eight current outputs with field-device communication and diagnostics
Siemens 6ES7332-8TF01-0AB0 is an SM 332 HART analog output module for ET 200M distributed I/O. Its eight channels provide configurable current outputs alongside communication with compatible field devices. Channel parameters, diagnostics and substitute values are assigned through the supported engineering environment.
The module supports analog output readback and documented redundant operating arrangements. HART communication requires sufficient loop current, while temperature affects the number of simultaneously usable outputs. The outputs are isolated from the backplane and load supply, but not individually from one another.

Current-loop output with configured HART and diagnostic access
Use a documented ET 200M interface and compatible engineering configuration. The cited edition supports PROFIBUS DP and specified PROFINET IO arrangements, but field-device configuration and calibration access have interface-specific limitations.
Connect each load to its designated CH+ and CH- terminals. Account for supply, common-mode potential, load impedance, ambient derating and the minimum current needed for HART communication.

Can the zero-to-twenty milliampere range communicate by HART?
The manual lists that range with HART capability, but communication requires an output current of at least 1.17 mA. A selected zero-based range does not guarantee HART communication at zero output. -
Are all eight outputs available at the highest horizontal temperature?
No. The manual permits eight simultaneous outputs through 40°C horizontally, reducing to four through 60°C. Vertical installation is limited to 40°C with eight simultaneous outputs. -
How should unused output channels be terminated?
Deactivate non-wired outputs in the STEP 7 output parameter block. The manual states that resistor termination is unnecessary for these unused output channels. -
What conditions apply to wire-break and short-circuit diagnostics?
Wire-break detection requires at least 250 µA commanded output. Clearing a pending message requires the fault to be removed and output raised above 250 µA. Short-circuit detection requires at least 4 mA and identifies loads below 30 ohm. -
Does redundant operation eliminate any output disturbance during a failure?
No. In the documented redundant arrangement each module normally supplies half the value. The output briefly drops to half after one fails before the surviving module supplies the full value. Additional HART masters, HART fast mode and user calibration are not permitted in that redundant mode. -
Can firmware be freely downgraded or updated during redundancy?
No. Firmware must not be updated while the module is used redundantly. A module at version 3.0.0 or later must not receive firmware below 3.0.0; the manual warns this can leave it faulty and requiring manufacturer repair.
