The rack conforms to the 19-inch EIA standard and provides a total of 17 positions. The three leftmost positions are reserved exclusively for system infrastructure modules: two power supply slots and one rack interface module (RIM) slot. The remaining 14 positions accommodate any combination of monitor modules, relay modules, Keyphasor modules, display interfaces, and communications gateway modules. All modules plug into the rack's backplane, which carries both the regulated DC power bus and the proprietary TDI (Transducer Data Interface) high-speed communication bus that enables real-time data sharing and coordinated protection actions across all installed modules.
