Description
The IC695PSD040F is a power supply module that is part of the PACSystem RX3i platform, currently under Emerson Automation, formerly produced by GE Intelligent Platform (GE IP). This power supply mounts to an RX3i universal backplane. It has an input voltage range of 18-30 VDC for module Start and 12-30 VDC for Module Run with maximum input Power of 60 Watts at full load. It has an output power of 40 Watts; Output voltage of 5.1 VDC, 3.3 VDC, 24 VDC; Output current of 0-6 Amperes and 0-9 Amperes, respectively.
The IC695PSD040F also has an 24 VDC output which may be utilized by the user to energize circuits on relay output modules. This Rack power supply is installed to the Slot 0 of the universal backplane. Only 1 instance of this module is needed per backplane however, this module is not compatible for use in redundant power supply assembly or increased capacity modes. With this, if the rack power demand exceeds the output capability of the IC695PSD040F , RX3i modules must be installed to a separate backplane to manage power supply loading.

The IC695PSD040F supports redundant and load-sharing power architectures when used with compatible RX3i redundancy hardware. Built-in diagnostic functions continuously monitor operating status, and four front-panel LED indicators provide visual indication of input power, output status, and fault conditions. When an internal fault occurs, the module reports the condition to the controller, allowing the CPU to log diagnostic information and assist maintenance personnel in system troubleshooting.

Each terminal accepts one AWG 14 to AWG 22 wire. The end of eachwire should be stripped at least 3/8-inch (9mm). The terminal canaccept a wire that is stripped up to 11 mm (.433 in) while providing fullseating of the insulator. The wire must be fully inserted as shown atleft, so that the insulation meets the insulation stop position inside theterminal. Tightening the terminal screw pivots the clamp firmly againstthe stripped end of the wire, holding it in place. If the wire is not fullyinserted as shown at right, tightening the terminal screw may push thewire upward so that it is not connected.
