Within the Versamax series, the GE Fanuc Emerson IC200PBI001 serves as a Network Interface Unit (NIU). This component facilitates communication over a Profibus-DP network, supporting data rates spanning from 9.6 Kbaud to 12 Mbaud, while automatically adjusting to the detected rate.
The total I/O data processing capability reaches 375 bytes per operation, accommodating a maximum of 244 bytes allocated for inputs or outputs. Additionally, it processes user diagnostic data that includes 2 bytes for status or control and 5 bytes designated for standard PROFIBUS diagnostics. The unit is limited to connecting eight individual modules at each station.
Power requirements entail 250 mA at 5 V and an additional 10 mA at 3.3 V, provided through the backplane. Connectivity is facilitated via a 9-pin D-sub connector adhering to Profibus DP specifications.
