      The Honeywell 8939-HN is a Multi-Mode Fiber Optic Extender IOTA (Input Output Terminal Assembly) specifically designed for the Honeywell Series 8 I/O system. Its primary function is to extend the I/O link between the S8 C300 controller and associated I/O modules beyond the physical limits of standard copper cabling, typically up to a distance of 2 km

      The 8939-HN Honeywell Multi-Mode Fiber Optic Extender IOTA may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

      The Series 8 I/O connects to the S8 C300 via a pair of Combo cable interfaces. Two redundant Combo cable interfaces provide the IO Link connection between the S8 C300 controller and the associated S8 I/O modules. The Combo cable interface connectors are located on the IOTA (Input/Output Terminal Assembly). Each Combo cable can be configured to support Series 8 I/O. Fiber extender modules enable remote applications of Series 8 I/O by extending the I/O link beyond the Series 8 cabinet where the S8 C300 resides.
      G3 Conformal Coating: The PCB is treated with a specialized coating to protect components against corrosion, high humidity, and airborne contaminants (such as H2S or Chlorine) common in chemical and O&G plants.
      Extended Temperature Range: Hardened to operate between -40°C and +85°C, preventing thermal shutdown or component drift in unconditioned cabinets.
