Non-RoHS expander processing for a verified Trusted configuration
ICS Triplex T8310CX is the manufacturer-identified non-RoHS, conformal-coated Trusted expander processor. It occupies the dedicated processor position in an expander chassis and links the triplicated expander bus to the backplane serving the installed expansion modules and their communications.
The triplicated architecture contains faults within the expander bus, module or chassis. Onboard hardware and software diagnostics monitor operation and identify faults, while front-panel indicators display module condition. Standby and spare-module configurations support the documented fault-tolerant expansion arrangement.

Is this module the main Trusted controller processor?
No. It connects the expander bus to the expander chassis backplane. The main controller and expander interface perform different roles; a similar front panel does not establish interchangeability. -
Does T8310CX carry the newer twenty-watt expander rating?
The exact T8310CX Series B entry in T8000-CT001 specifies 20-32 Vdc and 45 W. PC002G lists 20 W for T8310 hardware Series C. Do not transfer that rating to the CX order or infer the supplied hardware series from its suffix. -
Which chassis positions are permitted?
Only the two dedicated processor positions PL1 and PL2 in the expander chassis. The manual prohibits installation in other module locations because damage may result. -
Can a module showing ACTIVE be removed during replacement?
No. Complete the manufacturer changeover and confirm that the original module is in Standby and the replacement is Active. Removing an active module can cause expansion modules and the process program to enter shutdown states. -
Does module hot replacement permit cable-hood replacement online?
No. The manufacturer requires shutdown for replacement of the complete cable assembly and requires the associated chassis positions to be unoccupied. These are separate procedures. -
How are local and optical expansion connected?
The local arrangement uses TC-301 through T8312. The remote optical arrangement uses T8314 with TC-302 on the interface side and TC-303 on the expander side. Match the full route, hardware and documented distance limits. -
Why can the standby module have no transmit indication?
The manual states that no red transmit activity is observed in standby. Green indicates receive activity. Confirm healthy indicators, the intended operating state and diagnostic information before treating this as a fault. -
Does non-RoHS mean unrestricted replacement or site approval?
