Forty-channel analog input for the Trusted safety platform
ICS Triplex T8431 is a Trusted TMR analog input module that receives signals from forty sourcing field devices. Each channel uses three independent processing paths, with diagnostic testing and configurable line monitoring to identify input faults and field-wiring problems.
Line monitoring can detect open and shorted field wiring when each channel is appropriately configured. State changes generate event records with one-millisecond resolution, while configurable voltage thresholds and front-panel indicators support channel status reporting and fault investigation.

Match T8431 to the installed Trusted safety and control systems
T8431 belongs to the Trusted TMR I/O architecture and occupies an I/O module slot in a T8100 or T8300 chassis. Its forty inputs receive sourcing field-device signals; an FTA or VFTA and the appropriate field cable form part of the installed interface.
Configure the input variables, chassis and slot assignment, thresholds, noise filtering and LED modes through the Trusted engineering tools. The TMR processor configures the module from the application and System.INI data; there is no physical module configuration switch to set.
Select field cables and terminations from ICSTT-RM311 or ICSTT-RM313 and follow the T8431 installation instructions. Check static handling, connector condition and cable keying. Intrinsically safe circuits require external barriers; channel-to-channel isolation is not provided.

Match the T8431 designation, supplied hardware revision, termination assembly and installed channel configuration before replacement. A T8431C listing or another forty-channel module is not treated as an unconditional substitute solely because its description looks similar.
The official manual supports Companion Slot and SmartSlot replacement arrangements. Validate the configured spare arrangement and follow the controlled active/standby procedure so that the required system safety and availability are maintained.
