Treat the BA01 number as a bundle rather than the label of a single bare interface. The supplied BU01 interface, server module and FastConnect connector each serve a different role. The server terminates the station and must also appear in the controller configuration with its chosen status-byte length.
Allocate the station's I/O data independently from its physical module count. Thirty-two ET 200SP modules and sixteen ET 200AL modules can be supported, but the station is limited to 244 bytes in each direction and individual modules to thirty-two bytes. Review the actual mix before accepting a module-count-only compatibility claim.
The RS485 connection uses a PROFIBUS DP address set on the interface's DIP switches. Each address must be unique and agree with the project. The documented services include DPV0, DPV1, SYNC and FREEZE; application isochronous operation is not supported, so PROFINET-oriented assumptions must not be carried into this station.
