Description
The Vibro-Meter CP515 143-515-000-111 is a piezoelectric dynamic pressure sensor developed for the measurement of rapidly changing pressure signals in industrial turbomachinery and process applications. The sensor is designed to detect dynamic pressure fluctuations generated by combustion processes, gas flow instabilities, compressor pulsations, and other high-frequency pressure phenomena that cannot be accurately measured using conventional static pressure transmitters.

The CP515 utilizes VC2-type single crystal material operating in compression mode to produce a stable charge output proportional to dynamic pressure fluctuations. The sensing element is housed in a robust casing, with some listings indicating Inconel 600 construction for high-temperature corrosion resistance. The transducer is fitted with an integral mineral-insulated (MI) cable with twin conductors, terminating in either a LEMO connector or a Vibro-Meter high-temperature connector.
The sensor is designed for long-term monitoring of pressure pulsations in extreme environments such as gas turbine combustors. It operates at temperatures up to 700°C with a frequency response up to 10,000 Hz. Sensitivity is rated at greater than 120 pC/bar. The charge output requires an external signal conditioner such as the IPC704 or IPC707 for conversion to standard current or voltage signals compatible with monitoring systems.
