Input signal levels are configurable to accommodate various field device types. Contact inputs are detected with open resistance of 100 kΩ or larger and close resistance of 200 Ω or less. Voltage and current pulse inputs operate with high levels of 3 to 24 V DC, low levels of -1 to 8 V DC, and a minimum swing value of 3 V. The signal source resistance must be 1 kΩ or less.
The AAP135-S50 S2 provides a configurable chattering elimination filter to suppress noise and contact bounce on mechanical relay inputs. Shunt resistance is selectable from none, 200 Ω, 500 Ω, or 1000 Ω to match different field device requirements. The module can supply 12 V DC or 24 V DC transmitter power with current limiting at 40 mA (12 V) or 30 mA (24 V).
