The EMG ECU01.5 is discontinued. What is its replacement model?+The official replacement model is ECU 02.5. It is 100% compatible with ECU01.5 in terms of electrical connections, mounting dimensions, and software protocols, and can be directly replaced in situ without modifying the control program.

The buttons on the screen are unresponsive. Do I need to replace the entire unit?+No. A common problem with ECU01.5 is worn membrane keypads. You can purchase and replace the membrane keypad layer on the panel separately, which is much cheaper than replacing the entire unit.

What is EMG ECU01.5?+The EMG ECU01.5 is an industrial operating and display unit (HMI) manufactured by EMG Automation GmbH. It is primarily used as a control interface for strip guiding systems and industrial automation, typically mounted in control cabinets.

Can the backlight of the ECU01.5 screen dim or flicker be repaired separately?+Yes, but it's not recommended. The ECU01.5 uses an early CCFL or low-generation LED backlight module. Due to its sealed design, disassembly can easily damage the membrane buttons. It's recommended to first check if the 24V power supply is stable. If the power supply is normal, it's usually more cost-effective to replace it with the ECU02.5.

What is the maximum data transmission distance for ECU01.5?+Due to the use of an RS232 interface, the standard stable transmission distance is generally recommended to be within 15 meters. If the console is too far from the control cabinet, the signal may be interfered with, resulting in packet loss or garbled display.

The EMG ECU01.5 is a legacy industrial operating and display unit (HMI) designed for EMG iCON® and SPC16 strip guiding systems. Acting as the primary user interface, it features a monochrome LCD and mechanical push buttons to monitor real-time strip positions and switch between control modes like Manual, Center, and Automatic.
Direct Replacement: ECU01.5 has been replaced by ECU02.5. The latter features a larger 4.5-inch color touchscreen but remains fully backward compatible in electrical and mechanical specifications, allowing for direct replacement without software adjustments.
