Product Condition & Availability Guide

AMIKON supplies current, obsolete and hard-to-find industrial automation parts. Product condition, packaging, revision and availability can vary, so these details should be confirmed in the written quotation before purchase.

Product Condition Definitions

Factory New
A new and unused product supplied in manufacturer packaging where available. The source, packaging condition and applicable warranty will be confirmed in the quotation.
Factory New does not automatically mean that the original manufacturer’s warranty applies.

New Surplus
A new and unused product obtained from surplus inventory, discontinued projects, plant upgrades or other independent supply sources.
New Surplus products may have older date codes, previous-generation revisions, opened packaging or storage wear.

New Sealed Packaging
A new and unused product in sealed manufacturer packaging. Packaging may show signs of storage or aging.

New Original Packaging
A new and unused product in original manufacturer packaging that was not originally factory sealed.

New Open Packaging
A new and unused product whose original packaging has been opened, normally for inspection, identification or photography.

New Without Original Packaging
A new and unused product that no longer has its original manufacturer packaging. It will be packed appropriately for storage and shipment.

Used / Refurbished
A previously installed or operated product that has been cleaned, inspected and, where stated, tested or refurbished.
Used or refurbished products may show cosmetic signs of previous use. The exact condition and available test information will be stated in the quotation.

Availability Definitions

In Stock
The product was physically available when inventory was last checked. Stock can change quickly and must be reconfirmed before payment.

Available
The product may be sourced from AMIKON’s supply network. “Available” does not necessarily mean that the product is currently in the AMIKON warehouse.

Ask / Contact Us
Availability, condition or lead time must be manually confirmed. Submit an RFQ with the exact part number and required quantity.

Discontinued / Obsolete
The original manufacturer may no longer produce or support the product. AMIKON may still be able to supply surplus, refurbished or alternative stock.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are all AMIKON products Factory New?
No. AMIKON supplies Factory New, New Surplus and Used/Refurbished products. The condition will be stated in the quotation.

Is New Surplus the same as used?
No. New Surplus means the product has not been used, but it may have older packaging, an older date code or a previous revision.

Can I request the exact revision or date code?
Yes. Include the required revision, firmware level or date code in your RFQ. These requirements are only guaranteed when confirmed in writing.

Are website images always photos of the exact item?
Some images may be representative of the product series. Ask for actual photos if packaging, label, revision, date code or appearance is important.

Are accessories and connectors included?
Only the items specifically listed in the quotation or product description are included. Request confirmation for terminal blocks, connectors, cables, manuals, batteries and mounting accessories.

Are products functionally tested?
Inspection and testing depend on the product type and condition. Ask for available test information or inspection details before ordering.

Is firmware included?
Firmware availability and revision are not guaranteed unless expressly confirmed in writing. The customer is responsible for verifying software, firmware and license compatibility.

Does the original manufacturer’s warranty apply?
Not automatically. AMIKON is an independent supplier and is not an authorized distributor for every manufacturer shown on the website. The applicable AMIKON or manufacturer warranty will be stated in writing.
