Firmware: To use internal SDI/DDI communications, firmware in every individual monitor must be compatible. Monitors like 3300/17 or 3300/40 are typically pre-equipped.
Hardware: Old backplanes are incompatible with new power supplies (and vice versa); they must be updated together. Note that 3300/90 and 3300/60 modules do not support SDI/DDI protocols.
If you plan to connect to an external communications processor, you must disable the internal SDI/DDI communication protocol by configuring the system monitor as a 3300/03-01.
