Modular SLC 500 control with 16 K words of memory
Allen-Bradley 1747-L532/D identifies the Series D version of the SLC 5/03 modular processor. The 1747-L532 specifications provide 16 K words of memory, DH-485 and configurable RS-232 communication for an engineered SLC 500 control system.
The controller uses RSLogix 500 and supports a local system of up to three chassis and thirty slots. Before servicing or migration, preserve the application and data tables, identify the installed operating-system revision, and check chassis loading, communication settings and I/O addressing.

Preserve the existing program and communications
Use the compatible SLC 500 modular chassis and verify the processor power-supply loading together with all installed I/O. Confirm the processor slot and the complete module configuration before applying power.
Back up the RSLogix 500 application, data tables and channel settings. Identify the installed operating-system revision and memory-backup arrangement; do not assume that a matching front label proves all software settings are identical.
Preserve the approved DH-485 and RS-232 wiring and configuration. Use the manufacturer-supported interface and cable arrangement, and test communications and machine behavior before returning the equipment to operation.

Can I program this processor using Studio 5000?
The manufacturer specifies RSLogix 500 for SLC 5/03 processors. A migration to a Logix platform is a separate engineering conversion, not simply opening the old program in different software. -
