Description

The 3300/65 Dual Probe Monitor combines the shaft relative displacement signalof a Bently Nevada proximity transducer and casing vibration from a velocitytransducer, both of which are installed in the same axis on the machine, into onemeasurement of shaft absolute vibration.

Dual Probe Monitors are designed for machines with fluid film bearings, such aslarge steam and gas turbines, where a significant amount of shaft vibration istransmitted to the case. If you are uncertain as to whether your machinetransmits significant vibration to the casing, we can provide engineering servicesto determine the characteristics of your machine and recommend anappropriate monitoring system.

Features:

  • Designed for Machines with Fluid Film Bearings
  • Combines the Shaft Relative Displacement Signal and Casing Vibration
  • Four Distinct Measurements
The 3300/65 is a Dual Probe Monitor that combines the shaft relative displacement signal of a Bently Nevada proximity transducer and casing vibration from a velocity transducer, both of which are installed in the same axis on the machine, into one measurement of shaft absolute vibration. The 3300/65 provides four distinct measurements for comprehensive machinery monitoring. The 3300/65 measures shaft relative vibration, which is a proximity probe measurement of shaft vibration relative to the bearing housing.

The 3300/65 also measures bearing housing vibration, which is a seismic measurement of the bearing housing vibration relative to free space. Additionally, the 3300/65 computes shaft absolute vibration through a vector summation of shaft relative vibration and bearing housing vibration. Finally, the 3300/65 provides shaft average radial position relative to the bearing clearance through the proximity probe dc gap measurement.

The 3300/65-13-01-00-00-00-00 Bently NevadaDual Probe Monitor may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The 3300/65 features user-programmable recorder outputs configurable for +4 mA to +20 mA, 0 Vdc to -10 Vdc, or +1 Vdc to +5 Vdc. Outputs from the 3300/65 are proportional to the programmed full-scale range, and recorder outputs are provided for relative and absolute or relative and seismic readings. Monitor operation of the 3300/65 is unaffected by short-circuits on recorder outputs, ensuring continuous reliable data acquisition.
The 3300/65 offers a nominal -3 dB frequency response that is user-programmable for 4 to 4,000 Hz (240 to 240,000 cpm), or 1 to 600 Hz (60 to 36,000 cpm) for the proximity transducer input. The 3300/65 also provides field-programmable options via plug-in jumpers, including Danger mode (nonlatching or latching), Danger bypass switch, recorder output selection, recorder clamping, alert relay mode, danger relay mode, absolute alarm option, relative alarm option, gap alarm option, seismic transducer OK check, and relative path frequency response selection.
  • Turbines: Monitors steam/gas turbines in power generation plants
  • Compressors: Safeguards centrifugal, axial, and reciprocating compressors in oil/gas processing
  • Pumps & Fans: Tracks large fluid-handling pumps and ventilation systems
  • Generators & Motors: Detects shaft imbalances or bearing defects in heavy electric drives
  • Keyphasor Distribution: Buffers and distributes phase reference and speed tracking data

Slot placement: Insert the 3300/65 monitor module into any available non-reserved slot in the 3300 rack (remember that the first two slots are strictly reserved for the power supply and system monitor).
Power off: Ensure rack power is completely disconnected before sliding or extracting any modules to prevent electrical arcs or loss of machine protection.
Secure module: Slide the card smoothly along the internal card guides until fully seated, then tighten the front panel retaining screws.
