Overview Manuals Flame detection Product Applications Electrical Wiring Restrictions

Features:

  • Multi-Flame Detector Compatibility
  • Programme Sequence with Coloured Indicator
  • Five-Stage LED Flame Signal Display
  • Air Damper Position Monitoring
The Honeywell TMG 740-3 MOD 43-35 is a burner control box for controlling and monitoring medium to high performance forced draught and dual fuel oil/gas burners in single or two-stage versions. The unit is enclosed in a flame-resistant, transparent, plug-in type plastic housing.

The control box contains a synchronous motor with gearbox driving a 16-way cam switch assembly which controls the programme sequence. Two DC relays and one remanence relay are mounted on a common yoke. A circuit board with mains transformer and LED display is integrated. The front panel features a reset button incorporating a signal lamp for malfunction (lockout), a coloured programme indicator, a flame signal indicator with 5 LEDs, and a central screw fastening.

The TMG 740-3 MOD 43-35 Honeywell BURNER CONTROL BOX may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The following types of flame detector can be used:- Ionisation electrode, where the mains supply provides aneutral earth connection. Suitable for gas burners (signalcurrent from flame cannot be influenced by interferencefrom ignition spark).
- UV sensor type UVZ 780 red, suitable for gas, oil and dualfuel burners.
- Infra-red flicker detector type IRD 820 and 1020 for alltypes of burner.
The flame signal amplifier is adjusted to the the type ofdetector probe fitted by using the flame detector selectionswitch on the underside of the unit. If the IRD flicker detectoris used, the selection switch must be adjusted to the "ION"position.
Flame detection is only operational when the switch positionselected corresponds to the type of detector probeconnected.By optimally matching the amplifier to the detector probe, considerably longer signal transmission distances with lesssensitivity to interference can be achieved.
  • Commercial/Industrial Boilers: Regulates safe startup, operation, and shutdown of multi-stage or modulating burners
  • Dual-Fuel Heating Systems: Manages seamless fuel transitions and combustion monitoring for gas/oil systems
  • Direct Air Heaters: Functions per DIN 4794 standards for industrial hot air blowers
  • Specialized Thermal Equipment: Tailored for high-speed steam generators and ignition spark monitoring

Main Fusing: Protect the primary line with a maximum 10A rapid or 6A slow-blow fuse.
Cable Separation: Route the detector probe cables away from high-voltage power lines to minimize signal interference.
Multi-Core Cables: Do not use a single multi-core cable to bundle flame sensor signals with mains or ignition cables.

Technical notes

The TMG 740-3 MOD 43-35 operates on 110 V AC or 220/240 V AC supply with a power consumption of approximately 15 VA (20 VA for 110V). It supports ionisation probes, UV sensors, and infrared flicker detectors for flame detection. A selector switch on the underside of the unit sets the flame detector mode to UV or ION.
