PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Forty-channel digital input for the Trusted TMR platform
ICS Triplex T8403 provides forty 24 V DC digital inputs within the Trusted TMR platform. Each input is processed through three independent paths, and its measured voltage is compared with configurable thresholds to determine the field contact state.
With suitable monitoring components at the field switch, the module can identify open and shorted field cables. Channel state changes are recorded with one-millisecond event resolution, while automatic diagnostics and front-panel indicators report input conditions and module health.

Match T8403 to the installed Trusted safety and control systems
T8403 occupies an I/O module slot in a T8100 or T8300 chassis. It receives forty field input signals through the selected termination assembly and cable, and communicates input states and diagnostics to the Trusted TMR processor.
Assign the chassis and slot, connect the input and status variables, and configure channel thresholds through the Trusted engineering tools. The processor applies the downloaded configuration and manages the configured active/standby arrangement.
Select the approved FTA or VFTA and Companion Slot or SmartSlot cable from the manufacturer documents. Verify cable keying and field-switch monitoring components. The module provides neither channel-to-channel isolation nor an intrinsic-safety barrier.

Verify the complete T8403 identity before exchange
Confirm the complete T8403 identification, actual hardware revision, field termination and channel configuration before selecting a replacement. Another forty-channel input module is not an unconditional substitute based on channel count alone.
Use the installed Companion Slot or SmartSlot arrangement and the controlled changeover procedure. Verify that the replacement is active and the original is in standby before removal; a module still indicating Active must not be removed.
ICSTT-RM271Q-EN-P and PD-T8403 Issue 19 identify the reference publication, not the supplied hardware revision. This manual does not establish an exact-order discontinuation date or an unconditional successor; obtain current manufacturer confirmation where required.

What does the T8403 module do?
T8403 is a forty-channel, 24 V DC digital input module for the Trusted TMR platform. It reports field input states and diagnostics to the processor; it is not an output module or a field termination assembly. -
Which supply and signal ranges apply to T8403?
The nominal digital signal type is 24 V DC. The manufacturer specifies a 20 to 32 V DC backplane supply and an input measurement range of -6 to +36 V DC. These are different quantities and should not be interchanged. -
What is required for field-cable fault monitoring?
Suitable line-monitoring components must be installed at the field switch and each channel configured accordingly. The documented design can distinguish open and shorted field wiring. Detection should not be assumed for an unconfigured contact circuit. -
Where can T8403 be installed?

How is the module configured?
Use the Trusted engineering tools to assign chassis and slot locations, input variables, channel thresholds and other documented settings. Configuration is loaded through the processor; there is no physical input-module configuration adjustment required. -
Can T8403 be replaced online?
The manufacturer documents Companion Slot and SmartSlot arrangements. Verify the installed arrangement and complete the controlled active/standby changeover before removal. A module still in the Active state must not be removed.
