The CBP2 supports both DP-V0 cyclic data exchange and DP-V1 acyclic parameter access. The DP-V0 protocol handles real-time process data (PZD) including control words, setpoints, status words, and actual values. The DP-V1 protocol extends functionality to non-cyclic parameter reading and writing (PKW area), allowing remote configuration and diagnostics without interrupting drive operation. The board operates at baud rates from 9.6 kbps to 12 Mbps with automatic baud rate recognition. The PROFIBUS address is set via on-board DIP switches in the range 0 to 126. The 9-pin D-Sub female connector includes an integrated termination resistor switch for proper bus termination.

When factory-mounted, the drive order number is supplemented with "–Z" and the corresponding option code: G91 (slot A, compact/chassis), G92 (slot B, compact PLUS), G93 (slot C), G95 (slot E), or G97 (slot G).
