6ES7241-1AH32-0XB0 connects a serial device to S7-1200
Siemens 6ES7241-1AH32-0XB0 is the SIMATIC S7-1200 CM 1241 RS232 communication module. Its male 9-pin D-sub interface supports full-duplex serial communication and Freeport operation. The module provides configurable baud rates from 300 to 115200 bit/s, with selectable parity, stop bits and flow control.
Use the module for an engineered point-to-point connection to a compatible RS232 device. The PLC program must implement the required message format and handling; electrical connection alone does not provide the device protocol. Does the male D-sub socket indicate the direction of every signal?

The communication module may not deliver the intended complete frame when expected. Match the configured character sequence, length or timing condition to the actual device telegram and examine received data before changing the application parser. -

The S7-1200 manual limits CM 1241 modules to the local position on the left of the CPU. The distributed PtP examples use different ET 200 communication modules. Do not infer remote-rack compatibility from the shared PtP instruction family. -
