Stratix 8300 switching for routed industrial networks
Allen-Bradley 1783-RMS10T is a ten-port Stratix 8300 managed Ethernet switch with Layer 3 routing. The base unit provides eight Fast Ethernet copper ports and two dual-purpose uplinks, supporting the documented copper or compatible SFP media arrangements.
The switch integrates industrial network management with Logix diagnostics and configurable network services. Before maintaining or migrating an installation, preserve the routing, VLAN and port settings, verify power and enclosure requirements, and assess the functional replacement against the complete network architecture.

Match the base switch, expansion modules and uplink transceivers to the installed network. The two dual-purpose uplinks do not provide four independently active connections; copper and SFP share each uplink.
Use the documented DC supply, grounding and industrial enclosure. Maintain upright orientation and ventilation clearances, and check the electrical limits when connecting external alarm devices.
Preserve the approved switch configuration and management access. Validate routing, VLANs, multicast handling, addressing and connected-device communications before returning the network to operation.
