The Bently Nevada 330171-00-12-50-01-CN is a 3300 Series 5 mm eddy current proximity probe for continuous measurement of shaft vibration, radial displacement, axial position, and rotational movement in critical rotating machinery. It operates as part of the 3300 5 mm Proximity Transducer System, which consists of a matched proximity probe, extension cable, and Proximitor® sensor to provide calibrated and repeatable measurement performance.

The probe utilizes non-contact eddy current sensing technology to detect the distance between the probe tip and a conductive target surface. Variations in shaft position produce proportional electrical signals that are conditioned by the Proximitor® sensor for machinery protection and condition monitoring systems. The complete transducer system provides a typical sensitivity of 200 mV/mil (7.87 V/mm) and supports accurate static and dynamic measurements across a broad operating frequency range.

The 330171-00-12-50-01-CN is a 3300 5mm Proximity Probe with 1/4-28 UNF thread and without armor, designed as a critical component of the Bently Nevada 3300 5mm Proximity Transducer System. The 330171-00-12-50-01-CN works in conjunction with a 3300XL extension cable and a 3300XL Proximitor Sensor to provide an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface, enabling both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) measurements.

The 330171-00-12-50-01-CN features a compact 5mm physical packaging that provides the same linear range as a 3300XL 8mm probe, making the 330171 ideal for applications where physical constraints preclude the use of an 8mm probe. Typical applications for the 330171-00-12-50-01-CN include mounting between thrust bearing pads or other constrained spaces where a larger probe cannot fit. The 330171-00-12-50-01-CN does not, however, reduce the sideview clearances or tip-to-tip spacing requirements as compared to an XL 8mm probe. When applications require narrow sideview probes, Bently Nevada recommends using the 3300XL NSv probe and extension cable with the 3300XL NSv Proximitor Sensor instead.

The probe housing is manufactured from AISI 303/304 stainless steel, while the sensing tip is constructed from polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) for excellent mechanical strength and resistance to oil, chemicals, and elevated temperatures.
