Description

The 330173-03-08-05-02-05 3300 5 mm Proximity Probe is a non-contact eddy current sensor designed for continuous vibration and displacement measurement on fluid-film bearing machinery. The probe operates by generating a high-frequency electromagnetic field at the probe tip and detecting variations in the field caused by changes in the distance between the probe and a conductive target surface. These changes are converted into a proportional electrical signal for machinery monitoring and protection applications.

The 3300 5 mm probe improves upon previous designs. Apatented TipLoc molding method provides a more robustbond between the probe tip and the probe body. The 3300 5mm system is orderable with Fluidloc cable options forpreventing oil and other liquids from leaking out of themachine through the cable’s interior

A 5 mm probe uses smaller physicalpackaging and provides the samelinear range as a 3300 XL 8 mm probe(ref 141194-01). The 5 mm probe doesnot, however, reduce the sideviewclearances or tip-to-tip spacingrequirements as compared to an XL 8mm probe. Use the 5 mm probe whenphysical (not electrical) constraintspreclude the use of an 8 mm probe,such as mounting between thrustbearing pads or other constrainedspaces. When your application requiresnarrow sideview probes, use the 3300 XLNSv probe and extension cable with the3300 XL NSv Proximitor Sensor (refer toSpecifications and Ordering Informationp/n 147385-01).
