      The PROXPAC® Proximity Transducer Assembly is similar in external appearanceand mounting detail to our 31000/32000 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies. Itoffers the same advantages and features as these conventional housings forexternal adjustment of, and access to, proximity probes. However, the PROXPAC®Assembly also contains its own Proximitor® Sensor inside the housing’s cover.This design makes the PROXPAC® Assembly a completely self-containedproximity probe system, and eliminates the need for an extension cable betweenthe probe and its associated Proximitor® Sensor. It also eliminates the need for aseparate Proximitor® housing. For short cable runs, field wiring is connecteddirectly between the monitors and PROXPAC® Assemblies. For longer cable runs,a junction box is often mounted at or near the machine skid to house terminal strips.The field wiring is connected to terminal strips in the junction box, providing accessto Proximitor® signals at a convenient location near the machine.

      The design of the PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer Assemblyis similar to our 31000/32000 Proximity Probe HousingAssemblies. The assembly offers the same advantages andfeatures as the 31000 and 32000 housings for accessing andexternally adjusting proximity probes. However, the housingcover of the PROXPAC XL Assembly also contains its own 3300XL Proximitor sensor. This design makes the PROXPAC XLAssembly a completely self-contained proximity probesystem, and eliminates the need for an extension cablebetween the probe and its associated Proximitor sensor. Italso eliminates the need for a separate Proximitor housing, asthe field wiring connects directly between the monitors andPROXPAC XL Assemblies. 
       
      The PROXPAC XL housing is made of Polyphenylene Sulfide(PPS), which is an advanced, molded thermoplastic. Thismaterial replaces the steel and aluminum in previoushousings offered in the Bently Nevada product line. It alsoincorporates glass and conductive fibers in the PPS tostrengthen the housing and more effectively dissipateelectrostatic charges. The PROXPAC XL housing is rated forType 4X and for IP66 environments and provides extraprotection in severe environments.
      Ingress Protection: The housing is certified to IP66 and Type 4X standards, protecting against hose-directed water and environmental contaminants.
       
      Pressure Sealing: Designed to seal differential pressure between the probe tip and the housing using a Viton O-ring.
       
      RFI/EMI Immunity: The integrated Proximitor sensor is highly resistant to radio frequency interference, allowing for installation in non-metallic housings without losing signal accuracy.
      330880 vs. 330800: The 330880 series is the current standard model for PROXPAC XL proximity sensors. The 330800 is an earlier model, commonly found in legacy installations. Both are essentially identical when configured with the same options.
       
      Certification-Related Changes: If your application does not require hazardous area certification, the -16 (no certification required) option functions exactly the same as the -28 (multiple certifications required) option used in your part number.
