The design of the PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer Assemblyis similar to our 31000/32000 Proximity Probe HousingAssemblies. The assembly offers the same advantages andfeatures as the 31000 and 32000 housings for accessing andexternally adjusting proximity probes. However, the housingcover of the PROXPAC XL Assembly also contains its own 3300XL Proximitor sensor. This design makes the PROXPAC XLAssembly a completely self-contained proximity probesystem, and eliminates the need for an extension cablebetween the probe and its associated Proximitor sensor. Italso eliminates the need for a separate Proximitor housing, asthe field wiring connects directly between the monitors andPROXPAC XL Assemblies.

The PROXPAC XL housing is made of Polyphenylene Sulfide(PPS), which is an advanced, molded thermoplastic. Thismaterial replaces the steel and aluminum in previoushousings offered in the Bently Nevada product line. It alsoincorporates glass and conductive fibers in the PPS tostrengthen the housing and more effectively dissipateelectrostatic charges. The PROXPAC XL housing is rated forType 4X and for IP66 environments and provides extraprotection in severe environments.

Gapping & Voltage: For proper operation, the probe must be "gapped" to its linear range. A typical gap voltage for the 3300 XL series is approximately -9 V to -11 V DC when centered.
Mounting: The unit is designed for a 3/4-14 NPT mounting hole. Ensure the probe tip is correctly positioned relative to the shaft surface based on the 63 mm penetration depth.
Electrical Power: Requires a supply of -17.5 Vdc to -26 Vdc. For maximum linear range, use a supply between -23 Vdc and -26 Vdc.
Wiring: Wiring connects directly from the monitoring system to the internal Proximitor sensor terminals within the PROXPAC housing, which provides IP66/Type 4X protection.
