Sixteen outputs with the original BH10 supply-group behavior
The 6ES7422-1BH10-0AA0 SM 422 provides 16 digital outputs in two isolated groups of eight. Each channel is rated 2 A, but adjacent output pairs also have temperature-dependent aggregate current limits. The individual channel rating does not permit unrestricted loading across the module.
Each eight-output group must receive rated load voltage at least once during commissioning. Loss of one group supply can switch all outputs off while status LEDs continue operating. This original BH10 behavior differs from BH11 and must be considered when checking the installed shutdown arrangement.

Although the module has two isolated groups of eight, the aggregate current limitation applies to pairs of adjacent outputs. Calculate both the individual channel loading and the current shared by each pair under the installation temperature.
BH10 requires special attention to the group supplies during commissioning. The rated load voltage must be applied at least once to each eight-channel group. A missing group supply can switch off all outputs while status LEDs continue to operate, so the design must not interpret an illuminated channel indicator as confirmation of energized field loads.
Check switching frequency, lamp loading and inductive behavior against the intended load category. Electronic short-circuit protection is specified, but the manual does not guarantee reclosing under full load after a fault. Preserve the original recovery conditions and the project response rather than treating protection as a substitute for load-circuit design.

What is the main difference between BH10 and BH11?
