The design of the PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer Assemblyis similar to our 31000/32000 Proximity Probe HousingAssemblies. The assembly offers the same advantages andfeatures as the 31000 and 32000 housings for accessing andexternally adjusting proximity probes. However, the housingcover of the PROXPAC XL Assembly also contains its own 3300XL Proximitor sensor. This design makes the PROXPAC XLAssembly a completely self-contained proximity probesystem, and eliminates the need for an extension cablebetween the probe and its associated Proximitor sensor. Italso eliminates the need for a separate Proximitor housing, asthe field wiring connects directly between the monitors andPROXPAC XL Assemblies.
The 330880-28-15-048-00-02 Bently Nevada PROXPAC XL Proximity Transducer assembly may still be available for purchase and support from Amikon Limited beyond End-Of-Life (EOL) by the manufacturer (OEM).

The PROXPAC XL housing is made of Polyphenylene Sulfide(PPS), which is an advanced, molded thermoplastic. Thismaterial replaces the steel and aluminum in previoushousings offered in the Bently Nevada product line. It alsoincorporates glass and conductive fibers in the PPS tostrengthen the housing and more effectively dissipateelectrostatic charges. The PROXPAC XL housing is rated forType 4X and for IP66 environments and provides extraprotection in severe environments.

Target Material: Ensure the shaft is AISI 4140 steel, as the unit is factory-calibrated to this material.
Recommended Gap: Set the physical distance between the probe tip and the shaft to 1.27 mm (50 mils).
Insertion: Use the 4.8-inch penetration depth to reach the target through the machine casing. Tighten the 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread to secure the housing.
Clearance: Maintain a minimum target diameter of 15.2 mm (0.6 in) to avoid edge effects that can distort readings.
