PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Forty digital output channels for compatible Trusted field loads
ICS Triplex T8461 connects forty field devices to 24 V DC or 48 V DC digital outputs. Each channel uses a triple modular redundant architecture, with diagnostic measurements of voltage and current across the voted output path to support fault-tolerant operation.
Automatic line monitoring detects open circuits and short circuits in field wiring and connected loads. Additional tests identify outputs stuck on or off, while onboard event recording logs output-state changes with 1 ms resolution using measured channel voltage and current.

Is T8461 an analog output or a digital output?
It is a 40-channel digital output module for compatible 24/48 V DC field duties. It must not be substituted for a current-loop analog output module simply because the modules share a Trusted chassis. -
Which supply voltage belongs to the backplane?
The backplane rating is 20 to 32 V DC and 26 W. The external field supply has a separate 18 to 58 V DC rating, so a single supply figure does not describe both circuits. -
How much current can one output provide?
The continuous maximum is 0.75 A per channel. The specified minimum on-state load is 25 mA and maximum load capacitance is 500 microfarads; the complete power-group design must also be checked. -
Can unused outputs be left without the specified termination?
The manual instructs that unused outputs be commanded off and wired through a 10 kohm, 0.5 W resistor to zero volts. Use the full wiring procedure and approved drawings, not this summary alone. -
Are all forty channels individually isolated?
